Emergency and Temporary Housing

DHS administers local and federal grant funds to assist organizations in providing emergency and transitional shelter to victims of domestic violence, single adults and families residing in the District of Columbia.  The following providers receive grant funds through DHS for services to single women and/or families:

Permanent Supportive Housing Program

In addition, DHS maintains a Permanent Supportive Housing Program that provides direct case management services to chronically homeless families and individuals, and links program participants to long term housing.  More information on this program may be obtained through the Homeless Services Program Office – (202) 698-4166.
